01

The bar is part of the total

The target includes bar weight. Confirm the actual bar: common Olympic bars are 20 kg or 45 lb, but women’s, training, technique, trap, and specialty bars vary.

02

Load symmetrically

The result shows plates per side. Use collars, inspect equipment, and keep both sides balanced during changes.

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly

Why is the result below my target?+

Your target cannot be made exactly from the listed standard plates, so the calculator shows the closest lower load and the remaining difference.

Does it account for collars?+

No. If your collars have meaningful weight, include them by adjusting the effective bar weight.

Do I need an account to use the calculator?+

No. The web calculators are free and run in your browser without an account.
